Healing means finding wholeness, connection and meaning. Healing experiences don’t have to be dead serious. They can feel great and be a lot of fun!  Writing, Reiki, expressive art, singing, and music are among the many ways to bring much-needed healing to our lives.

Enjoy this video of Kamakakehau Fernandez. It features his Hawaiian music, a genre I’ve come to love after having the opportunity to spend some time there. I still miss the spirit of that beautiful state, and I was only there for a brief time. There’s a nurturing loving-kindness, and a spirit of delight and appreciation that’s woven deep into the culture. Or at least, that’s how it felt to me.

Somehow it helps to see Kamakakehau in his mask. It tells me that we can make our way through this pandemic and the turmoil of our times. And that yes, we can even heal ourselves and our planet in the process.

After you’ve enjoyed the song, listen to what he has to say. It’s as beautiful, and as healing, as his music.
