When making changes in our lives, we can get stuck for all sorts of reasons. For me fear is a big one. I can get a case of the “what ifs [insert feared result here] ” and have trouble moving forward. Here’s an exercise that can help. Use it to list any gains and losses you see as linked to either making a change that your considering, or to not making the change. After you’ve written everything you can think of, take a look at each square.  Does anything surprise you? Are there any discoveries here? Do the gains you identified seem realistic? What about the losses? Within the gains, what (if anything) is most important to you? Which loss (if any) is most significant to you? In the balance, what do you really want? To keep things the way they are? Or to change?
